happy birthday

Do you remember being in school, starting a worksheet, skipping the instructions and jumping right into the worksheet?  Yeah, I don't recommend it.  That was me with the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #57.  This card took me way too long.  I started watching the video, paused it, and then got busy with the idea that jumped in my head.  I should have continued watching.  I had all this trouble with blurry images with my colored kissing technique.  I tried die inks, then pigments, then colored paper with die inks and pigment inks.  Nothing made the images any clearer.

Finally, I thought to watch the rest of the video. I noticed that Heather was stamping the solid image first, cleaning the stamp, and stamping the second time with the pattern.  How could I be such a fool?! {palm to forehead}  Everything went much quicker after that!

failed attempts

stamp: Papertrey Ink car, "happy birthday" & "enjoy the ride"
ink: A Muse sky, ocean, & blueberry
other:  Papertrey Ink die cut

Hi Kari: I think you did a great job on this technique. I also gave it a try, and it wasn't as easy at it looked, was it? Good luck to you, as well. By the way, I would SO love to have you visit my blog when you get the time, and would be delighted for us to become "followers" of one another's blogs. You did a cute job on this!
Blessings,
Karen

Cute card. This was the set I pulled out this morning to use . Then I remembered I wanted to use the leaf print set. I think your card is very nice now that you FINISHED the video… :)

Super card. Now, I will watch the video, too, before I attempt this. I adore that little car--it's one of my fave sets, and it looks great with that pattern.

So sorry to hear you had the same issue with this challenge that I had! I didn't mention it in my blog, though...BUT it was obviously worth the trouble, your card is adorable. Love the color combo and an argyle VW? How cute could it be?

Love the argyle on this - so cute. I thought this technique was harder than it looks!
